BACH FLOWER REMEDIES
Bach flower remedies are made from the original plants and flowers. There are a total of 38 remedies in the Bach system of remedies.
Story (history) of origin of the Bach flower remedies:
Bach flower remedies were founded by Dr. Edward Bach, who was a well-known bacteriologist, physician and a homoeopath. Dr. Edward believed that emotional well-being is the key to overall health, he believed that if we heal the negative emotions, the body heals itself. The idea behind Bach flower remedies is similar to homoeopathy, which focuses upon the body’s own healing power.
He spent his life exploring different flowers and plants and how to use them to bring upon a gentle cure of our emotions thus creating a balance.
Every single medicine from the group of 38 remedies is directed at a particular emotional state.
Preparation of the Bach flower remedies:
Preparation of these remedies is very simple, and anyone can prepare these remedies.
Bach flower remedies are prepared by two methods:
-
The sun method – this method is used mainly for the delicate flowers; the flower heads are floated in pure water for three hours under the direct sunlight
-
The boiling method – mainly for the woodier plants or those which grow in the seasons of weak sunlight, here the flower and its parts are boiled in pure water for half an hour.
This energised water is then filtered and mixed with some amount of brandy to preserve the medicines for longer durations. This is the mother tincture of our medicines.
This is further diluted before usage.
The Bach flower remedies:
Dr. Bach organised 38 remedies into seven groups, which are mentioned below along with the name of the medicines that each group include. Along with the traditional names, modern names are also mentioned for your ease.
